We’re delighted to announce that Claire Lewis has been appointed to the Board of Trustees.
Claire Lewis brings a uniquely broad perspective to Women’s Sport Trust (WST), both personally and professionally. Her passion for football as a player, coach and lifelong supporter is complemented by early leadership roles supporting women and girls’ participation, and ambassadorial work with The FA.
Professionally, Claire has held senior roles at some of the world’s most influential organisations, including MTV, Apple, Nike, Inter Milan and the Premier League. From launching pioneering digital partnerships and producing the iTunes Festival at Apple, to leading brand and business strategy for the Global Football Partnerships team at Nike and driving international campaigns at the Premier League, she has built a reputation for combining commercial and brand insight with cultural impact.
Claire also has significant board-level experience, including five years as a Trustee of the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation, where she served as a spokesperson for the charity at London 2012. More recently, she was Chair of the World Gymnastics Championships (Liverpool 2022) and was a Board member of The FA Women’s National League for three years.
“I’m ambitious about how far Women’s Sport Trust can go, not just in terms of growth, but in the quality and impact it delivers. I want to bring that ambition to the board,” said Claire.
Reflecting on the experience she brings, she added:
“Through my work with leading global organisations across sport, spanning brands, rights holders, clubs, leagues and broadcasters, I’ve developed a holistic understanding of how the ecosystem operates. I hope to use that perspective to contribute to meaningful discussions, with a clear focus on driving scale, partnerships and long-term value for WST and for women’s sport more generally.”
Welcoming the appointment, WST CEO Tammy Parlour MBE said:
“I’m delighted to welcome Claire to the Board. She combines a genuine passion for sport with an impressive global track record across some of the world’s leading organisations. Her perspective, energy and ambition for what women’s sport can become will be a huge asset to Women’s Sport Trust as we continue to build for the future.”
