Connie is a former triple jumper who represented Great Britain and England internationally, most notably winning a bronze medal at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur. She retired from professional athletics in the year 2000 and moved into journalism. She was trained by the BBC as a sports producer, presenter and commentator and has provided commentary for Eurosport and the BBC, reporting on events such as the IAAF World Championships in Athletics. She is the Founder and Director of the successful Connie Henry Track Academy, which is a unique programme that uses sport to bring about social change. The academy provides a sports programme, educational and mentoring support aimed at changing the lives of hundreds of young people. She is also a qualified teacher and has exceptional management, networking, negotiation and fundraising skills and a proven track record in building strong partnerships.
